Christina R. Maynard, 29, was a passenger in a car that a Chillicothe police officer pulled over for allegedly not using a turn signal, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported.

The officer wrote in a report that when he asked Maynard her name, she first identified herself as Melissa Maynard, then later said her name was Alyssa Maynard. When the officer confronted Maynard about the discrepancy in information, she requested the officer take her to a hospital because she was nine months pregnant and going into labor, the officer said.

Police took Maynard to Adena Regional Medical Center. The officer said he told Maynard he would be standing by until she was properly identified. Maynard told nurses that the baby was about to be born and demanded the officer step out, he said.

After he left the room, a doctor approached the officer and said they had performed four different ultrasounds and that he was "beyond positive without a doubt that she was not pregnant, nor had she been in at least 1 month,” the report said.

Meanwhile, another officer contacted the real Melissa Maynard, who suggested the woman at the hospital was her sister, Christina Maynard, the officer said.

Police confirmed Christina Maynard’s identity and she was released from the hospital. She was arrested on a charge of falsification, and on warrants for conveyance, possession of heroin and a probation violation.
