A Georgia police officer is getting a lot of attention for going above and beyond the call of duty to help a boy in need.

The Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department shared a photo of Officer James Hurst laying in a hospital bed holding a child on his chest.

"In a time of need, Officer Hurst goes above and beyond to comfort a young child earlier today," the post said.

The picture got a lot of attention on the department's Facebook page. Many people expressed their gratitude toward the officer.
