A Kentucky mother is facing charges in Ohio after her 6-month-old baby was found crying inside a hot car, while the mother and another woman were passed out in the front seat, WCPO reported.

WCPO reported the temperatures were in the upper 80s at the time.

Police told WCPO, "When the officers got to the scene, the passenger in the vehicle had come to, so they were conscious, but obviously their focus was on the drug and not the baby."

The drug was heroin, according to police

Jessica Waller, child's mother is now facing  charges of child endangering, WEWS reported.

While Waller was being treated, officers took the child, cooling him off in a cruiser.  They were not sure how long the child was in the hot car.

No word why Waller was in Ohio.  The baby is with child family services, WEWS reported.
