Police launched an investigation after the victim, a 22-year-old man from Cincinnati, was found at Dayton Children's Hospital Saturday. He was initially considered a suspect because the ambulance was recovered at the hospital.

"Upon speaking with (the victim), he alleged that he had been held against his will at a residence," police said in the media release, according to WHIO.

“(The victim) went on to allege that he had been tortured at that residence for several days, and admitted that he had taken the medic unit to aid in his escape," police said.

Following a search warrant at the house police mentioned, Edwards was arrested and charged with kidnapping and felonious assault and was booked in the Warren County Jail.
