Police: Florida teen shot himself while stealing car

A Tallahassee teenager was arrested after he accidentally shot himself during a car theft, the Tallahassee Democrat reports.

Police said the 17-year-old boy accidentally shot himself while he was stealing a vehicle Sunday. According to the Democrat, the injured teen asked his friend to drive him to the hospital in the stolen car, but police apprehended them en route.

The teen was treated for his gunshot wound and faces charges of vehicle theft and carrying a concealed firearm.
