Authorities have filed charges against a Pittsburgh-area baseball coach accused of sexting one of his 14-year-old players.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the teenager told police that he and the team went out to eat on April 1. He said he got a piece of paper from a waitress with the name “Alexis” on it and a phone number.
The 14-year-old said he exchanged text messages with Alexis on the bus ride home. He said he continued to text the number for a day after the initial conversation.
The boy told investigators that during the next bus ride to a game, a group of players told him to text Alexis for nude pictures.
The boy said he did, and Alexis asked for photos in return. The boy said he eventually sent sexually explicit photos to Alexis.
A few days after sending the pictures, the boy said he was approached by a different baseball coach who told him that Alexis was coach Casey Gilkey.
Police said Gilkey requested the sexually explicit photograph from the boy while Gilkey was posing as Alexis.
Police interviewed Gilkey, the junior varsity baseball coach at Yough Senior High School, who said he was playing a prank on the teen, authorities said.
According to the affidavit, Gilkey said he thought it would be funny to prank the boy.
Gilkey was arraigned Friday on $10,000 unsecured bail.
