Police body cam shows officer on bike patrol chasing suspect

The Duluth Police Department posted a patrol officer’s body cam video recorded as he chased a suspect.

The suspect was identified after an assault, according to the post, and the video shows that “bike patrol is a very effective enforcement tool for police."

In the comments beneath the post, police answered questions and said all patrol officers are equipped with body cams.

Asked why the officer in the video says, “He’s in custody now, so be careful what you say,” the department's answer is: “Once the person is arrested - ‘in custody’ - if the person is asked questions, the Miranda Warning needs to be read.”
