Patient knocked out emergency room doctor for no apparent reason, police say

May 31, 2019An emergency room patient punched a doctor, with whom he had no previous interaction, and rendered him unconscious Thursday, police said.
Dontonyo Grey, 22, walked over to the doctor at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center around 5 p.m. and punched him on the left side of the face, knocking him out cold, The Advocate reported.
When he regained consciousness, the doctor told investigators he had not previously dealt with Grey.
Grey was arrested and charged with battery of emergency room personnel, The Advocate reported. It was unclear why he was checked into the hospital.
