So far, French authorities have released very little  information about the men  who carried out the attacks in Paris.

Here's what we know now:

  • The exact number of terrorists involved in the attacks is not known.
  • There is speculation that some of the attackers may still be on the loose.
  • The Paris prosecutor is reporting that five attackers have been "neutralized."
  • Three were reportedly killed by security forces as authorities retook the concert hall Baraclan.
  • At least two attackers are believed to have died in suicide attacks at the sports stadium Stade de France.
  • We do not know who was behind the attacks. The Islamic State and al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula are two terror groups some believe could be responsible.
