A last gasp search by authorities to find a Virginia family's missing 5-year-old in March led to the discovery of Noah Thomas' body in a septic tank on the family's property.
The boy's parents, Paul Thomas and Ashley White, who are both in their early 30s, were fully cooperative with authorities during the investigation and so distraught that a family member spoke to the media on their behalf.

On Thursday evening, however, the boy's parents were both arrested on suspicion of child abuse (two counts each) and neglect of children, according to WSET-TV. The couple's 6-month-old was also placed into the custody of child services, according to report.
The two cases will be heard in juvenile and domestic court and will then be brought to a grand jury if certified, according to the station.
Autopsy results on the boy's ultimate cause of death are not yet available and could take weeks or months to complete.
