A family in Minnesota met the person who received their son's donated heart last week.
Matthew Heilser, 21, died in a house fire in March but because of his decision to be an organ donor, his heart saved the life of Vietnam veteran Tom Meeks. Meeks spent three years waiting for a heart transplant after being diagnosed with a rare disease called amyloidosis.
Eight months after Heilser's death, Heilser's parents and younger sister had the opportunity to listen to his heart beat in Meeks' chest.
