The world's oldest flyable Boeing airliner touched down to a final salute in Seattle.

When the model 247D was new, the United States was in the midst of the Great Depression and FDR was beginning his first year as president.

The 83-year-old aircraft flew down from the Museum of Flight's restoration center in Paine Field – much to the considerable relief of the museum's senior curator.

The plane will now be placed at Seattle’s Museum of Flight.
