An Oklahoma police chief has been charged with offering to pay a teenage girl for sex.
Stacy Burger was the police chief of the one-man police force in the small town of Cement. However, he no longer holds the position and is facing several charges, including soliciting prostitution and sexual abuse of a child, The Express-Star of Chickasha reported.
Burger, 40, is accused of text messaging a 16-year-old girl and asking her to meet him in his car, which he had parked outside her home, according to court documents. The girl had known Burger for at least five years, KFOR-TV reported.
Burger allegedly asked the girl if she wanted to make some money, then offered to pay her to perform a sexual act on him, court documents said. When the girl refused, Burger allegedly asked the girl if one of her friends would do it, according to court documents. The girl again refused, and Burger left.
Court documents state Burger later text messaged the girl, saying, "Please don't rat me out. If it helps, when I offered money it was a lot not just a little bit. I didn't think about your age."
When interviewed by Chickasha police, Burger allegedly confessed to the allegations and admitted to knowing how old the girl was, court documents said.
