A K-9 officer got himself in a prickly situation as he was on the scent of a man who was avoiding arrest in Oregon.

Odin the police dog didn't get his man, but he got the business end of a porcupine, walking away with more than 200 quills stuck around his muzzle and eyes, KPTV reported.

Odin had to be rushed to an area vet, where he had to be sedated to remove the quills and treat his injuries. Some of the quills were actually inside Odin's mouth and a couple were near his eye, deputies said.

It took about two hours for Odin's treatment, KPTV reported.

As for the man Odin was chasing, Devin Wilson, he was still on the run Monday, deputies said. They had been trying to serve several felony warrants when he ran.
