Authorities in West Virginia apprehended a North Carolina man Wednesday wanted on suspicion of raping a young child, according to multiple reports.

Michael Brandon Bryan, 37, was wanted on charges of felony statutory rape of a child and felony statutory sex offense involving a 5-year-old child he was babysitting, according to the Craven County Sheriff's Office.

Update 2:40 p.m. EDT Oct. 2: Authorities working as part of an FBI task force arrested Bryan Wednesday in West Virginia, WCTI-TV reported.

"We got this chump," Sheriff Chip Hughes told WCTI-TV.

Original report: According to WNCT, Michael Brandon Bryan, 37, of Cove City, is facing statutory rape and sex offense charges in the incident, which occurred while he was babysitting the 5-year-old victim, the Craven County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post Monday.

The Sheriff's Office described Bryan's vehicle as a beige 2004 Chevy Avalanche, WMBF reported. The truck has North Carolina tag PLX-6128, authorities said.
