Nonverbal, autistic teen’s smile lights up the room as he gets...

Louie Berman is a 17-year-old high school student in Haddonfield, New Jersey.

Although at first glance you might not realize, Louie has severe autism — he is nonverbal, and has difficulty communicating.

This video shows the teen as he takes pictures before his big prom. And his smile? It speaks volumes.

"As the puzzle unfolds for people with autism, we can see … these individuals are not much different from us," wrote Lou Berman.

Louie is the namesake behind Louie's Voice, an organization that helps to financially and emotionally support families affected by autism.
