Niagara recalls bottled water over E. coli concerns

The Niagara bottled-water company has issued a voluntary recall on some of its products.

According to the company's consumer notice, one of its springs was contaminated with E. coli bacteria.

The products were sold under the following brand names:

  • Acadia
  • Acme
  • Big Y
  • Best Yet
  • 7-11
  • Niagara
  • Nature's Place
  • Pricerite
  • Superchill
  • Morning Fresh
  • Shaws
  • Shoprite
  • Western Beef Blue
  • Wegman's

The recall only involves water produced at two plants in Pennsylvania - Hamburg and Allentown -- over the past two weeks.

The water was sold under multiple brands, including Niagara, 7-11, Wegman's, Pricerite and Acadia.

Look for water with codes that begin with the letter F for Hamburg or A for Allentown and a processing date and time between 3 a.m. June 10 and 8 p.m. June 18, 2015.

If you have water from Niagara produced during that period, the company said it should not be used.

E. coli can make people ill, especially if they have weakened immune systems.
