The St. Louis medical examiner ruled Martin died from a traumatic brain injury following the fall, according to WCIA-TV, and that she had alcohol in her system at the time.
Both Jenkins and Martin were prison security guards who were married in Las Vegas in May
Original story: The newlywed victim, identified as Allissa Martin, 27, was reportedly arguing with her husband, Bradley Jenkins, 30, at the Stadium East Parking Garage at Busch Stadium around 1:45 a.m. Sunday when the deadly incident occurred, according to news reports.
When police arrived at the scene, they found an agitated Jenkins, who appeared to be intoxicated, covered in blood and straddling the body of Martin, WCIS-TV reported.
Martin had apparently recorded the argument on her cellphone and it was still recording when police found it.
Here's what officers said was on the victim's phone recording, according to the WCIS: "When rewound, the recording showed her pointing the camera toward herself. She then turned the camera toward the defendant and he was shown on camera. They are arguing. During the recording you can hear her yell for him to quit punching her face. She eventually drops the camera. Shortly after that, you hear her scream as she falls and you hear the thump of her body hitting the ground."
Both Martin and Jenkins worked for the Illinois Department of Corrections and were married in late May.
Jenkins was arrested at the scene and charged with third-degree domestic assault, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.
He was jailed on $100,000 bond. Police are still investigating Martin’s death
