Multiple New York law enforcement agencies are searching near the Town of Friendship for two convicts who escaped from Clinton Correctional Facility recently.
A police helicopter is helping search the Allegany County area. Roads near the town are closed, according to WGRZ.
Richard Matt, 48, and fellow inmate David Sweat, 34, escaped from the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora June 6.
A witness saw the men walking along a railroad line near the Town of Friendship Saturday, according to a release from New York State Police.
Reports said the two were spotted walking near a rail yard in the town of Erwin June 13. They were seen near the town of Lindley, near the Pennsylvania border the next day, according to WGRZ.
