In what is likely one of the most romantic ways to start a vacation, a New York firefighter proposed to his girlfriend on the last day of school before the holiday break.

Lt. David Royal, a 13-year veteran of the FDNY, surprised Natalie Moy with the proposal during a fire safety presentation to her kindergarten class, according to Gothamist.

Moy tried on the fire gear, including a pair of gloves. A jewelry box fell out of the left glove when she removed it from her hand.

"Will you marry me?" Royal is heard asking Moy on the YouTube video which was posted Sunday.

Moy, who has been with Royal for two years, said yes.

The kindergarten class screamed delight.
