A man brandishing a machete at New Orleans’ international airport also had six molotov cocktails with him when he tried to attack security agents, according to investigators.
In addition to the explosives, Richard White, 63, also had material from smoke bombs with him when he was shot three times Friday night.
White walked down a TSA Pre-Check security line into Concourse B at about 7:30 p.m. and was stopped by an officer who asked for his boarding pass.
White sprayed an officer with wasp spray, then ran past two others and pulled out a machete. He cut a female agent in her upper bicep. Another was struck in the arm by a bullet while running from White.
White is in the hospital recovering from his gunshot wounds.
