On Monday, the agency shared a photo of the sun that looked like a fiery jack-o'-lantern on the agency's Twitter account. NASA shared another spooky photo on Tuesday, which the agency called a "galactic ghoul."

NASA said the image was captured by the Hubble Space Telescope on June 19, 2019, and is a "titanic head-on collision between two galaxies."

The "eye" seen in the image represents the core of a galaxy, while the "face" is outlined by a ring of young blue stars and clumps of new stars form a nose and mouth, NASA said.

While galaxy collisions are common, most are not of the head-on variety, NASA said.
