Mother of boy found in dumpster dead, brother still missing

What began as an abandoned baby story has become a murder investigation.

WOWT reports that the mother of the abandoned baby has been found dead. A five-year-old boy, the abandoned baby's brother, is stil missing, according to KETV.

The mother’s body was found the same night that the baby was found abandoned in an apartment complex dumpster. Authorities said the baby was in relatively good condition and had been identified.

Officials then began searching for the baby’s mother and older brother. An Amber alert was issued, then canceled.

A man believed linked to the case has turned himself in and is being questioned by police.
