Father-to-be Tod Holloway died of a sudden heart attack before meeting his daughter.

His death meant Holloway would not have her husband in her maternity shoot with photographer Kelly Ross, who also photographed the couple's August 2015 wedding.

Holloway told WGGB she chose to move forward with the photos hoot because she would have regretted it otherwise.

"This is a young woman who worked so hard to make all of her dreams come true," Ross said in a comment under the photo. "She has her master's degree, has taught in the same school for 10 years, owns her own home in the town she grew up in, and found her soulmate. They had the most perfect wedding just last August followed by a honeymoon in Hawaii."

Ross used a photo from the couple's first dance at their wedding in order to place Tod Holloway into one of Kari Holloway's maternity photos.

In temporary ink on her belly is her husband's handprint.

"This picture went beyond my imagination.  He’d love it," Kari Holloway said. "I know it’s something that my daughter and I will be able to cherish."
