Officials said the woman, 24, may have been there for hours, pushing her dead 3-year-old son in a swing.

Investigators were reportedly trying to piece together what had led up to the time they found the woman and her dead son.

Deputies said it was immediately clear when they arrived at the park that the child was deceased, and there were not signs of trauma to his body.

The woman was able to answer some questions, deputies said, and they took her to a hospital for evaluation.

"It's a very sad and tragic situation for the mother, her family, the officers," Richardson said. "All of us want answers. We're working very hard on that."
