Missouri driver killed after tree branch crashes through windshield

A Missouri man was killed Friday afternoon after he was impaled by a tree branch that crashed through the window of his vehicle.
A 48-year-old Missouri man was killed when a tree limb crashed through a car windshield Friday afternoon, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.
John R. Dean, 48, was driving a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire when the branch fell from a dead tree and struck the vehicle's windshield, according to the Missouri State Police.
Dean was impaled by the branch, the Post-Dispatch reported.
Dean was the only person in the car, according to the newspaper. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the highway patrol report.
