Microsoft has been pushing hard to market its Surface tablets as replacements for Apple's MacBooks. It's been a struggle, but giving the tablets to CNN on Election Night and having them seen on air must have been a big victory.
Except when it became public that, as 9to5Mac pointed out, CNN anchors were hiding iPads behind the Surfaces.
Apparently, CNN has made it clear which tablet it prefers.
CNN is not the only network to show a preference for iPads. The NFL also has a deal with Microsoft Surface, and the tablets are prominently featured on pre-game shows. Unfortunately for Microsoft, once live game coverage began, announcers could be heard referring to players using their iPads on the sidelines to review game footage.
