A 14-year old girl shot during a rampage in Michigan was pronounced dead, until she squeezed her mother's hand.

The girl was critically injured during a shooting at a Cracker Barrel parking lot in Kalamazoo that killed four others, one of three shooting scenes Saturday.

"She's in extremely critical condition, but she's still clinging to life," Michigan State Police Lt. Dale Hinz told MLive. "The only word to describe it is wow. It's absolutely a miracle that she's alive and we're definitely hopeful for her continued improvement."

The teen was with family and friends at the time of the shooting, according to MLive. Her mother was not there.

The girl was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead. Investigators had relayed as much to the media as well. However, as she was kept on life support so her organs could be donated, she squeezed her mother's hand.

Investigators arrested Jason Brian Dalton, 45, early Sunday after a massive manhunt. Dalton, who was working as an Uber driver, has no known criminal history and passed a background check for the transportation company.
