Mexican mayor murdered day after taking office

The newly-elected mayor of a town near Mexico City was murdered a day after taking office.
Gisela Mota, 33, the mayor of Temixco, was beaten and shot by four gunmen Saturday, according to TelesurTV.
Graco Ramirez, the governor of the state of Morelos, confirmed the incident on Twitter.
The suspects then fled in a van. Two of the men were killed during a shootout with police, according to TelesurTV. The other two were arrested.
Several mayors were assassinated last year in Mexico, according to TelesurTV.
