The mayor of Beech Grove, Indiana, has declared a Walmart store as a public nuisance and it will be ticketed if police are called to respond to incidents.

Mayor Dennis Buckly took action after a series of incidents at the store in the last year including a fight in the shampoo aisle the spurred a viral video. Last week, a suspected shoplifter fled police on foot from the store and shot himself in the head at a nearby restaurant. In June, a 63 year-old woman died when another fleeing shoplifting suspect crashed his SUV into her pickup. Two others were injured in that incident.

Mayor Dennis Buckley said last week, "There is a 10-day grace period. Then after that, we will issue them a ticket every time we go down to Walmart for being a nuisance. The intent is to discourage the behavior.”

Walmart is working with the city to prevent crimes and has increased security.
