A behemoth great white shark was tracked off the Jersey Shore on Friday.

Mary Lee, a nearly 3,500-pound shark,surfaced about 40 miles off the coast of Atlantic City, according to Osearch.org, a group that tracks great white sharks.

The shark has been spotted up and down the Atlantic coast over the years, according to the Asbury Park Press.

The 16-foot-long, 3,456-pound shark was tagged in 2012 off Cape Cod, according to Osearch. She has traveled 34,175 miles since then.

The shark is named after researcher Chris Fischer's mother, according to Osearch.
