A well-known Florida mansion was destroyed in a fire Tuesday night.
The fire at the Pumpkin Center mansion in Cocoa Beach began at about 7:30 p.m.
"It's the first piece of destruction I've ever seen in my life. It's definitely more real than what you see in the movies and everything," witness Sebastian Hodge said.
The oceanfront mansion was built in 1975 and is valued at $4 million. The Associated Press reported that the current owners are Jeffrey and Teeraporn Wells. The AP also reported that the mansion featured a guest cottage, a mother-in-law apartment, tennis and basketball courts, a treehouse, a fireplace and a pool.
Witnesses described the mansion as an “iconic part of Cocoa Beach.”
"It was a beautiful home. It's very sad. I can't imagine what started it," Mingion Plummer said.
Thirty firefighters from Brevard County Fire Rescue and the Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral and Patrick AFB fire departments worked to extinguish the flames.
No one was injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
