According to police, the girls had just gotten off the school bus in front of an apartment complex on Patriot Parkway around 4 p.m. when they said they spotted a man in a burgundy SUV circling around.

The girls claim the man got out of the SUV, grabbed one of them by her backpack and asked them to go to a park.

Police said the man eventually let go of the backpack, and that's when the girls ran home screaming and told a family member what happened.

WSOC-TV's South Carolina bureau reporter Greg Suskin talked to Bryan Archilla, who recently moved into the same apartment complex where the incident happened.

"It's always a little bit of disbelief in terms of that really does happen in an area that I consider to be somewhat safe," Archilla said.

Detectives said they are searching through surveillance video from businesses in the area to find pictures of the SUV.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has seen the burgundy SUV in the area is asked to call the Rock Hill Police Department at 803-329-7293.
