Authorities are calling the death of a man whose body was found Thursday in a portable toilet suspicious.
The body was found near a construction site where new homes are being built, according to the Santa Fe New Mexican.
A witness who claimed to be a relative of the victim said that it appeared that the man had been beaten before being placed in the portable toilet.
Children playing in the area reportedly found the body, and told an adult who called authorities.
The victim, whose name has not been released by authorities, was in his mid-30s and lived in the neighborhood.
