Patrons at a restaurant in Maine were treated to free breakfasts Monday when one person picked up the check, WCSH reported.

Nine tables that included 25 customers at the Bluebird Ranch Family Restaurant in Machias got a happy start to their day, as the mystery benefactor covered approximately $200 to pay for the breakfasts, according to WABI.

Server Danika Foss, 22, said she has worked at the restaurant for five years. She described the generous patron as a man in his 60s who was dining alone, WCSH reported. After finishing his coffee and omelet, the man told Foss he wanted to pay for the meals of everyone who was in the restaurant, the television station reported.

"It reminds you that there are good people out there," Foss told WCSH.

The man left the diner before the other patrons realized what had happened, the television station reported.

The restaurant's owners posted about the kind act on their Facebook page.
