The body of Saul Garcia, 35, was recovered in about 15 feet of water around 6:20 p.m. in Coyote Creek, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

"In that area, we have a fairly sharp current, and our team that went in found it to be quite aggressive and dangerous," Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office Capt. Mike Van Elgort told the San Jose Mercury News. "I don't remember those creeks flowing that strongly since maybe the '80s."

Garcia went into the water to help the children from the bank, which is about knee-deep; however, there is a sudden drop.

GoFundMe page is set up to help Garcia's family.
