Police: Man choked driver for singing Christmas carols in March

Man Accused of Choking Driver When He Wouldn't Stop Singing Christmas Carols

A Pennsylvania man was arrested last week after he was accused of choking the driver of a car in which he was traveling for singing Christmas carols in March, police officials said.

Clayton Lucas, 25, of Natrona Heights, is charged with aggravated assault, strangulation, simple assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, according to Allegheny County court records. He was booked March 4 into the county jail, where he is being held in lieu of $25,000 bond.

WPXI in Pittsburgh reported that Lucas and the driver were traveling in East Deer Township when Lucas apparently became angry that the alleged victim was singing the festive tunes. The man told investigators Lucas began choking him in a bid to make him stop.

A responding state trooper reported seeing red marks on the man's neck, the news station said. His eyes were also bloodshot.

It was not immediately clear if Lucas and the driver were acquaintances or if the man worked for a ride-sharing service.
