A 30-year-old man has been arrested, charged with the deadly stabbing of Morgan Freeman's step-granddaughter.
Lamar Davenport was arrested on suspicion of murder Monday morning, The Associated Press reported.
Edena Hines, the granddaughter of Freeman's first wife, was found lying on the street in front of her apartment building in Upper Manhattan, The AP reported.
She had multiple stab wounds to the chest.
Police said the couple was in a relationship.
"The world will never know her artistry and talent, and how much she had to offer," Freeman said when remembering his granddaughter.
