A woman in Macon is in jail after an argument turned violent, officials with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said.

13WMAZ reported that, according to a news release, two women were arguing about a man when 21-year-old Alexis Tharpe took out a pistol, firing shots at the other woman and others at the scene about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The other woman was injured when a bullet grazed her. No one else was injured. The woman was treated by emergency medical services at the scene.

Tharpe was arrested at her home in Macon by Bibb County deputies and marshals with the Southeast Regional Task Force. She is charged with first-degree criminal damage to property and aggravated assault.

Tharpe remains in jail on a $17,800 bond, according to BSO records.
