Lost prosthetic ear mystery solved after owner hears about story on social media

The beachgoer turned the ear in to Holmes Beach police, who posted photos on Facebook.

The Facebook post asked, "Have you lost an ear?" Thanks to the post and large quantities of social media shares, the owner of the ear has been found.

Police said the department got a call from a woman in South Carolina who told them the ear belonged to her husband.

She said her husband went swimming and when he was trying to put the ear in his pocket, a wave knocked it out of his hand.
