Just 24 hours after his stepmother's speech to the Republican National Convention sparked a plagiarism controversy, Donald Trump Jr. briefly found himself under similar scrutiny on social media.
Trump Jr., speaking to the audience on night two of the RNC in Cleveland on Tuesday, used phrases that aligned with passages from a 2016 commentary by F.H. Buckley, a professor at Virginia's George Mason University School of Law. Shortly after controversy started to build in the Twitterverse, Buckley appeared to have tweeted in defense of Trump Jr.
