James, going after a loose ball, crashed into fans who were sitting courtside.

Among the spectators were PGA star Jason Day and his wife, Ellie.

Ellie Day was injured. After a few unsettling moments, Day was transferred to a hospital where she was believed to be OK but being monitored as a precaution.

She was released Friday morning, a spokeswoman said.

During the post-game interview, James expressed remorse for what happened.
