But what are the odds of seeing a gator next to a sign warning people to watch out for alligators?

The odds were high in Tampa over the weekend.

The Tampa Police Department shared a photo on its Facebook page of a "large and very angry alligator" at Rowlett Park on the city's eastern side. The park borders the Hillsborough River, where many gators live and nest.

Police helped a trapper capture the alligator and remove it from the park, which is also located next to a golf course, WTVT reported.

The sign "has a slightly humorous cartoon of an alligator on it, but they are no laughing matter," Tampa police wrote on Facebook.
