A landlord who took a tenant's dog in a bizarre dispute, turned herself in after driving to the Marion County Jail in a limousine.
Rose Mary Skoda-Kempton, also known as Brooke Kempton, kicked Kate Taylor out of a house she rented for being disrespectful April 24, according to KOIN.
Kempton, 39, asked Taylor, 30, to take her things, including two horses that were being boarded at Kempton's mother's house, and leave, according to KATU.
Taylor moved out.
Two days later, Kempton went to Taylor's father's house. She accused her former tenant of stealing two saddles. Kempton told Kevin Taylor, Kate Taylor's father, that she was taking the woman's 15-pound dog named "Isis" in retaliation, according to the Statesman Journal. Isis is a 4-year-old Whippit, according to KGW.
"This is a completely bogus accusation," Kate Taylor told KOIN about the stolen saddles. "I just really want my dog back."
Kevin Taylor, 61, tried to stop Kempton by jumping on the running boards of her Ford F250 pickup truck as she sped away. He was thrown from the vehicle and injured his wrist and hand, according to KOIN.
"She said 'You. Kate's got my saddle. I'm taking this dog,'" Taylor told KGW.
Deputies made contact with Kempton who agreed to turn herself in Friday. Kempton was arrested and charged with theft and robbery, according to KATU.
Isis's location is still unknown.
