A 15-year-old has found himself in trouble with the law, accused of making bomb threats that forced evacuations at a Staten Island high school, all in an effort to impress friends he made playing an online Xbox game,silive.com reported.
The teen was arrested Tuesday, charged with making terroristic threats and aggravated harassment, a NYPD spokesman said.
Silive.com reported that the teen sent an email to the school's principal last week, suggesting that the school be evacuated before it exploded.
It was checked, and nothing was found.
Monday, police said he send a second email, that, according to silive.com, said, "Hey, congrats, man. You missed all four bombs. In (sic) blowing them up in 20 minutes."
Tuesday, police said the student called the school, making a final threat.
Police said the teen made the threats after been prompted by his friends he met while playing the game. Police have not said what game it was.
