Pop star and actress Jennifer Lopez and Major League Baseball star Alex Rodriguez have donated a year’s worth of food to a Tennessee elementary school.
Teacher Brooke Goins wrote an emotional Facebook post about a hungry student who took Goins by surprise and about how she and other teachers contributed money to buy food for the child. Lopez and Rodriguez saw the post and decided to help.
"This story brought tears to my eyes and I'm so happy we were able to help these wonderful kids out. Giving back is truly what matters most," Rodriguez wrote on Instagram.
Lopez and Rodriguez are co-owners in a frozen meals company called Tiller & Hatch.
"We decided to donate a year's worth of their yummy, healthy meals, for the students and their school's food pantry," Lopez said.
“Because giving back and being there for others is really what matters most,” she said.
