Hundreds of eels slime Oregon highway after truck rollover
A truck full of eels overturned outside of Lincoln City, Oregon, Thursday releasing hundreds of the slimy snake-like fish onto the highway.
The Oregon State Police said state Department of transportation and Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office personnel were at the scene of the crash.
Another vehicle apparently was damaged and its driver injured when struck by the truck.
The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife told KOIN that a slime forms when the eel's mucus mixes with water. The Depoe Bay Fire District personnel used fire hoses to clean the road of the mess.
