One of the residents said they are waiting for the sun to come up to have the tree removed.

The tree narrowly missed a grandmother who was in the bathroom.

“She’s 70 years old. She’s on medication. She’s in the bathroom there and that’s where the tree branch came down. The scream I heard was here. She was in shock. I mean, literally, it was about a foot away from her. It was unbelievable. I don’t want to imagine what could’ve happened,” said neighbor Gerardo Maxwell.

Duke Energy cut power to the home, a neighbor said.

No one was injured.
