The selfie stick became a popular mainstream item a few years ago, but this year, there's a new, revolutionary toy to consider: the selfie stick for MacBooks.
The MacBook selfie stick isn't actually going to hit the market, but a series of photos shows the invention's creators posing with the contraption around New York and in Times Square.
Some of the photos show onlookers with expressions of bewilderment and amusement.
The MacBook selfie stick and the photo shoot are a part of a project by Moises, John Yuyi and Tom Galle, the same people who made a real-life "Neflix & Chill" room that they posted on Airbnb, and it's intended to bring attention to society's addiction to vanity and self-obsession.
Though the stick can hold the 2-pound Apple computer, users have to use both hands to steady it. Plus, there's no word on whether the tool actually allows users to click the button to take a photo.
According to Mashable, "using a larger piece of technology is absurdist, bringing attention to the selfie sticks that we have gotten used to. These artists intentionally make themselves stick out by looking absolutely ridiculous, expanding the size of their own selfie game, acting as a sort of magnifying glass turned toward standard selfie culture."
