Actor Alan Thicke has died at age 69, according to TMZ.
The celebrity gossip site reported that Thicke died Tuesday afternoon when he had a heart attack playing hockey with his son. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Los Angeles Times confirmed the news of his death with the publicist of one of Thicke's sons, singer and songwriter Robin Thicke.
Alan Thicke was born Alan Willis Jeffery March 1, 1947 in Kirkland Lake in Ontario, Canada. He began his career as a writer for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
He was successful as a daytime talk show host with "The Alan Thicke Show" in Canada before playing Jason Seaver on the sitcom "Growing Pains," which ran from 1985 to 1992.

Thicke also worked as a song composer on the theme songs for "Wheel of Fortune" and Diff'rent Strokes." He co-wrote "The Facts of Life" theme with soap actress Gloria Loring, his ex-wife.
Thicke recently appeared in "Fuller House," a 2016 sequel to the television series "Full House" which aired from 1987 to 1996. He's also made an appearance on the NBC show "This Is Us" and just wrapped production on "The Clapper," an upcoming 2017 movie starring Amanda Seyfried and Leah Remini, according to People.com.
Thicke also starred in a mockumentary show called "Unusually Thicke" from 2014 - 2015, which followed the actor and his family.
Thicke is survived by his wife, Tanya, and sons Brennan, Carter, and Robin.
